A 1,000 or so miles (1,600 kilometres) south of New York lies the popular destination of Orlando, Florida. While in the same country, and even on the same coast of the Atlantic Ocean, Orlando and New York offer quite a different photographic experiences. While New York offers the excitement of a busy metropolitan city, Orlando, is a smaller city filled with tourist attractions. With famous destinations like Walk Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Gatorland and more, there’s no excuse to not bring your family on this expedition. Orlando is also home to one of the countries most active music scenes, so there is always a concert going on to photograph.

Orlando is also home to an active theatre population. Several professional and semi-professional houses and many community theatres are scattered throughout the area including the Orlando Shakespeare Festival, Orlando Repertory Theatre, Orlando Theatre Project, Starlight Dinner Theatre, Mad Cow Theatre, Theatre Downtown, The Osceola Center for the Arts, Winter Park Playhouse, Theatre Winter Haven, IceHouse Theatre, and Seaside Music Theatre. Orlando also hosts the Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival every summer. The younger sister park to Seaworld - Discovery Cove - lets you get even closer to the sea-life allowing you to swim with fish, stingrays and the park’s main attraction, Bottlenose dolphins. It is sold out most days, but if you have underwater housing for your cameras, you’ll capture once-in-a-lifetime photographs.
