Wanna Be a Moderator Around the Corner?
As I mentioned in the February 2008 Corner Newsletter, we need some more moderators around the Corner to help keep this place running smoothly. The pay is awesome ($0/month), and the hours are great (24/7), and your boss is the coolest ever (me).
As far as what we’re looking for, ideally you have been a member of the Corner for at least 6 months, and have close to or more than 1,000 posts. You like help around the Corner by answering questions, as well as by giving critiques and feedback throughout the forum. Mods do a lot of “behind the scenes” work like moving threads, correcting posts, policing the forum, and helping me with ideas, in addition to being very influential in contributing to the direction of the Corner. The Corner is growing a lot, and we just need some more help.
You do get some stuff in return. You see those 5 little blue camera icons above? You get those as your rank icons instead of the black ones you have now. You also get the rank of “Moderator” (think lots of respect… or something… hehe). I send mods little presents now and then (maybe even a couple of the new PhotographyCorner pens), and you also get full access to the entire forum (including the secret mod lair!!! mwhahahahahaa!). You interested?
One of the new mods will eventually lead to a paid position, if you’re interested, so if that’s something that may interest you, you’ll want to apply.
And how can you apply to be a mod? Simple. Just send me an email [twalker(at)photographycorner(dot)com] and tell me why you want to be a mod. In a couple of weeks, I’ll make my choices based on the applications, and we’ll be off to the races. If you want to know more about being a mod before signing your life away… er… becoming one yourself…,
just ask one of the current mods - they’d be more than glad to give you a run down. If you have any questions, just ask in the comments!
