The time has finally come. We’re moving our site over to the new server!! And it’s happening tonight! Over the weekend, there will be a lot of changes going on around the Corner, so here’s the scoop on what’s going on and what to expect.

• Tonight (as in a couple of hours from now), we’ll be shutting the site down for a couple of hours to move the rest of the Corner over to the new server. Over the past week or so, we’ve been moving things like photos and older forum posts over to the new server (betcha didn’t even notice, did you??!), and tonight, once we shut the site off, we’ll move anything new that’s been added.
• Once everything is moved to the new server, we’ll do a bunch of techy stuff (DNS stuff, for those that are interested) so that when you go to www.photographycorner.com, you’re browser takes you to the new server, rather than the old one. In some cases, this will only take an hour or so. For others, it may not be until late on Sunday when you see the new server.
• Over the next week or so, it’s your job to tell me if things aren’t working quite right. Leave a post in the comments to let me know if anything funky is going on starting on Monday.
• If that’s not enough, once everything is moved over to the new server, on Sunday afternoon (starting at about 1pm EST (that’s 6pm GMT), we’ll be shutting the forum off again (the rest of the site will be available, though) to do upgrades to the forum software. I have an awesome expert giving me a hand with an upgrade (Chelsea from MojoWriting.com), so it should go pretty smoothly. We anticipate the forum will be back running (more or less) within an hour or two at the most (so check back around 3pm or something).
• Once those upgrades are done, it will be bug-tracking time. Trying to figure out what might be broken both from the server move, and the software upgrades. Again, leave a post in the comments to let me know if anything funky is going on starting on Monday and we’ll try to get everything working properly again. There will also be some new features, but that will be for you to find!
