In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been out of town for the past couple of weeks. Of course, the Corner doesn’t stop ticking when I’m away, and there’s lots to catch up on now that I’m back. To make matters worse, it’s actually a holiday today up here in Canada, and I’ll be out for most of the evening (taking some engagement photos for a couple of friends). That being said, over the next couple of days, there will be a lot of catching up going on around the Corner.

Here’s what to expect:

• We’re in the middle of voting on the August 2008 Photograph of the Month. Voting actually ends in a little over 12 hours, so the winner will be announced later tomorrow.
• Beemer B773ER was announced as the winner of Contest Corner Challenge #53: Four-Wheel Fotography and I’ll be blogging about the contest and the win here on the Corner Blog.
• We announced Contest Corner Challenge #54: Dark Outlines which is all about silhouettes. Entries are due in by Monday, August 11th (I’ll blog about this in the next day or so as well).
• Now that I’m back in town, we’ll continue working on the software upgrade on the Corner Forums. Things are more-or-less working properly, but some things still don’t look right, so once the above stuff is done, we’ll start fixing the bugs one-by-one.
• While I was on vacation (spent most of it on Mayne Island off the coast of British Columbia, Canada), I didn’t have readily available internet access, but I did spend some time coding a bunch of the articles/tutorials in the queue for the Corner Photography Resource Center, so look for 5-6 of those to go up later this week. I’ll post about the here on the blog as I put them up.
• As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the July Newsletter never went out. I didn’t finish writing it in time and, well, now it’s August. I’ll try to make the August newsletter twice as good.

That’s pretty much it for the list. I know I have lots of threads and PMs to reply to, so I’ll try to get to those ASAP as well. Thanks for understanding, and thanks to those that have helped out a little extra around the Corner while I was out relaxing!!
