Together with our good friends at SmugMug.com, we have come up with another way to get more of you into a SmugMug account for free – plus it should be fun, and it will give you the opportunity to check out some pretty awesome photographs. Sounds like a win-win situation, eh? The best part, you don’t even have to get up off your chair to do it.

We’re starting a new series on the Corner Blog: “SmugMug Scavenger Hunts.” Here’s how it’s going to break down.

Every month, on the 10th of each month, we will list 15 photograph descriptions that you have to go find on SmugMug.com (example: find a photograph of a sunflower taken with an Olympus E-510). You search around SmugMug.com (tips on this below), and email your answers in to smugmug@photographycorner.com. On the 17th of each month, one correct entry will be randomly drawn and awarded a SmugMug Pro Account (1-year free subscription). Then on the 25th of each month, one correct entry will be randomly drawn (from the entries submitted from the beginning of the hunt) and awarded a SmugMug Power Account (1-year free subscription), and finally, on the 9th of each month, one correct entry will be randomly drawn (from the entries submitted from the beginning of the hunt) and awarded a SmugMug Standard Account (1-year free subscription). That’s $250 in SmugMug subscriptions given away each month! Note that if you get your entry in before the 17th of each month, you’ll have 3 chances to win an account each month (bonus… x3!!!).

For those of you that need a checklist, here are the nitty-gritty’s.

1. On the 10th of each month, on the Corner Blog, we will announce the next SmugMug Scavenger Hunt with a list of 15 photographs that you have to go find on SmugMug.com.
2. You go through the list of 15 photographs, and find them all.
   
   You can use the search box on SmugMug.com:
   
   
   1. To find out more EXIF data about each photo, hover your mouse pointer over the photo, and a small box will swing out from the right. Click on “Photo Info” to see specific details about the photograph:
      
      
   2. As you find a photograph, copy the URL:
      
      
   3. And paste the URL into an email like this:
      
   
   
3. Email your answers*, along with your PhotographyCorner username to smugmug@photographycorner.com
4. Check back to the Corner Blog on the 17th, 25th & 9th of each month to see if you’ve won.
5. Check back to the Corner Blog on the 10th of each month for the next SmugMug Scavenger Hunt.
