Time to Vote in Round 1 of the 2008 Photograph of the Year Contest

Entries were due in by January 7th, and a week later (aka late last night), voting began for the 2008 Photograph of the Year Contest. As we’ve done in the past, due to the number of entries, voting is split up into 2 voting rounds. This year, however, instead of only the top photograph from each group in the first round moving on to the final round, the top TWO photographs from each group move on. You can check out this thread that is stickied at the top of the Photograph of the Year Forum to see all the voting guidelines.

Another announcement last night, just before voting began, was the introduction of the new Corner Contest Galleries powered by SmugMug.com. From now on, instead of hosting all of our contest photographs in the Corner Galleries, they’ll all be in the new Corner Contest Galleries (including all the photographs in the 2008 Photograph of the Year contest!).

There are 10 groups of 13 photographs that need to be voted on. Voting ends between 12:45am to 2am EST (that’s 5:45am to 7am GMT) on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009. Later that day, voting in the final round will begin.

Here are the links to the galleries for each round, as well as the links to the voting threads. The photos are also posted in the voting threads if you wish to view them that way. Make sure, however, that you’re logged in to your PhotographyCorner account to cast your vote!

Enjoy the photographs!!
