Using this quick and simple technique, you can quickly add some umph to boring blue skies by making them darker and more dramatic. As always, although this tutorial is done in Adobe Photoshop, the technique discussed can also be duplicated in other post-processing programs like Paint Shop Pro and the GIMP.
