Forum Spotlight: Photography Equipment
The PhotographyCorner forums are filled with dozens of different forums; from the Conversation Corner and Member Introductions forums, to the Photo Sharing Corner and Critiques & Feedback Corner, to the Premiere Corner, Photography Contests and The Marketplace, and all the other forums in between. One group of forums that is often overlooked however, is the Photography Equipment forums. Almost all of us have a camera (it’s not a necessity around the Corner, though you’ll find that almost everyone that participates around the Corner has at least 1 camera), and the Photography Equipment forums are all about our cameras and accessories. We can talk about our new sigma lenses, the new Olympus dSLR, which filter set you prefer, point-and-shoot cameras, lighting, computers, software, etc.
The forums are split up into 5 sub-forums. Here’s how it breaks down:
- SLRs (Film & Digital): The forum to chat about SLRs new and old, film and digital, Canon
and Nikon
, big and small.
- Lenses & Accessories (Film & Digital): The place to discuss Nikon lenses, Canon EF lenses, filters
, flashes
, tripods
, and all the other accessories that seem to find their way into our camera bags
.
- Compact Cameras (Film & Digital): The forum to discuss everything to do with compact (non-SLR) film and digital cameras.
- Pro Equipment & Lighting: Discussions about professional photography equipment (think studio lighting, backgrounds
, etc) go here.
- Computers, Peripherals & Miscellaneous: Talk about computers
, peripherals, and anything else that doesn’t fit in the above equipment categories.
These forums are a great place to do some pre-purchase research, ask questions, and, of course, answer questions! There’s no better feedback on cameras and equipment than from other photographers that use that same equipment already. Have a question about a piece of equipment you’re considering picking up? Ask it here! Think you might be able to answer some questions on the equipment you already have? Answer questions here! The more active we are in asking and answering equipment-related questions, the more helpful the Photography Equipment forums will become. ![]()
