The 2010 Photograph of the Year Contest is Here!

The 5th Annual 2010 Photograph of the Year Contest is finally here. We’ve spent months organizing sponsors and prizes, and today we’re excited to announce it to the community. If you’ve been around the Corner for more than a year, you’re well familiar with our annual contest. If this is your first time here, or you haven’t been here long enough to experience the 2009 Photograph of the Year contest, here’s a brief run-down of how the contest works:

Basically, anyone can submit a photograph (to find out how to submit a photograph, check out the 2010 Photograph of the Year: How to Submit a Photograph page), as long as you’re a member of PhotographyCorner with at least 5 posts in the forum (this helps eliminate people from just entering without participating in the community). Only 1 photograph per person can be submitted (however, like last year, Premiere Members are able to submit 2 photographs - bonus!). Photos are to have little manipulation (basic color correction and touch-ups are fine), and may also not have a copyright stamp or border (Photographers do retain all rights to their photographs, however). Read all the nitty-gritty lawyerish-sounding rules here in the 2010 Photograph of the Year: Rules page.

The contest is being sponsored by 5 fantastic companies, including the lead sponsor: PrintedArt. Check out all the companies sponsoring the contest here on the 2010 Photograph of the Year: Sponsors page. From those companies, the top 10 finalists in the contest will receive part of the $6,500 in prizes available to be won. Wipe the drool off your keyboard while checking out all the 2010 Photograph of the Year: Prizes. The grand prize is worth over $1,000!!!

Entries are due in by January 7th, 2011 (midnight, GMT), and the community will vote on the winners. We split the voting up into 2 rounds, with the first round starting on January 12th, 2011. The winners will eventually be announced on January 28th, 2011 (don’t worry, there will be many more updates on the contest and voting before then).
