August is coming to a close (I can’t believe it’s almost September already), and that means it’s time for us to cast our votes for the upcoming Photograph of the Month. Every month, during the last week of each month, the PhotographyCorner community gets together and the Premiere Members nominate photographs posted to the Corner from the past month (in the forums or galleries). I have the arduous job of narrowing down those nominations to 15 or so photographs. Then the community has 7 days to cast their vote. Around the first of each month, the winner is announced and is featured on the homepage of PhotographyCorner for the entire month.

You can check out the 15 photographs up for the honors here in the September 2010 Photograph of the Month Photo Gallery, then head on over to the voting thread to make your decision. The contest is sponsored by M-Rock, a leading manufacturer of high quality camera, camcorder, lens bags, sling-backpacks and travel cases for professional photographers and enthusiasts. If the winner is a Premiere Member, they will receive a M-Rock Yellowstone 651 Holster Camera Bag (read the newly posted review of it here). If the winner is not a Premiere Member, they will receive a M-Rock Mesa Verde 644 Compact Camera Bag (read the newly posted review of it here).

There are some fantastic photographs up for the September 2010 Photograph of the Month, including two by Scott111184, Eric Diller and cup4tml. In case you missed it, we uploaded a fantastic review of the new Cotton Carrier camera system (written by Scott111184) to the Corner Resource Center last night. In fact, one of the most popular sections of the Corner is the Corner Resource Center, and over the past couple of months, I’ve been working my way through the queue of resources. As of today, we’re officially caught up.

So that means we need more resources!! Almost all of the articles, tutorials and product reviews in the Corner Resource Center are written by members of the Corner. Do you have something you’d like to submit? A neat Photoshop tutorial, or maybe a photography tip or trick? What about a review of that new lens you got? Write something up and submit it to the Corner! In return you’ll pick up a Contributor Award, and the praise and adoration of all the members of the Corner. We usually try to upload at least a couple new resources each month, but lately there’s been a bit of a backlog. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks I can get caught up and get the pending resources coded and uploaded. Just a quick blog post to let you know that there’s a new review in the Corner Resource Center. If you have been around the Corner for 10 months or more, you’ll probably remember ScanCafe, one of the sponsors of the 2007 Photograph of the Year contest. Just a quick note to let you know a great new article has been added to the Corner Resource Center. Tips for Photographing Wildlife by JeremyT is a great article, featuring 11 photographs, with various tips on photographing animals both in the wild and in captivity. The article includes tips on zoos, safaris, “little things,” the unusual, the golden hour, where to focus, backdrops, and sunsets.
