Go Read the April 2011 Corner Newsletter

It came down to the wire again this month - but at least I have a decent excuse (surgery). But, at least in the timezone I'm in, I got the April newsletter out while it was still April. With 5 hours to spare, even. ;) If you're a member of the Corner, it should be waiting for you in your inbox. If for some reason you're not a member or it didn't show up, you can read it online here.

The newsletter was sponsored by one of our favorite sponsors, PrintedArt. If you haven't checked them out, take a minute or two to drop by their site. Without sponsors like PrintedArt, the Corner probably wouldn't even be around, and you definitely wouldn't have a newsletter to read. ;) Now what are you waiting for? Go read the newsletter already - there's important stuff in there!

Time to Vote for the April Photograph of the Month

It’s not like you didn’t have enough to vote on already (hint: make sure to cast your vote for Contest Corner Challenge #84 here), but it’s the last week of the month, which means it’s time to vote for the upcoming Photograph of the Month. Around here, we vote on the last week of each month to decide which photograph, posted up in the forums and galleries, should receive the honor of being displayed on the homepage (which is why we vote on the April PotM in March…). One of the benefits of being a Premiere Member is the ability to nominate photographs throughout the month for the PotM. I have the priviledge of wading through the 50-100 nominations and whittling them down to 15. Check out the top 15 photographs posted to the Corner in the past month in the April 2011 Photograph of the Month Photo Gallery.

Once you’ve spent some time browsing through the 15 fantastic nominations this month, head on over to the voting thread to cast your vote. You have until approximately 9:30pm EST on Thursday, March 31st, 2011 (1:30am GMT on Friday, April 1st, 2011) to make your vote count.

The contest is being sponsored by LaserSoft Imaging - renowned worldwide as a pioneer in the field of scanner and imaging software - both in the area of private and professional usage. If the winner is not a Premiere Member, they will receive a Lifetime, Level I Premiere Membership.

So all that’s left for you to do is check out the photos, and cast your vote. Enjoy the fantastic photography, and good luck to those that have a photo up for PotM honors!

The April 2010 Corner Newsletter

I know it’s May already, but in case you missed it (because I forgot to blog about it, as I’ve now been reminded), the April 2010 Corner Newsletter actually went out on April 30th. So for those of you that have chosen to receive it via email, it’s in your inbox, unless you’ve read it already. For those that either choose not to receive the Corner Newsletter via email, or those that are not members of PhotographyCorner (you can join for FREE here), you can read the complete newsletter here in the Corner Newsletter Archive.

The newsletter was sponsored by Red River Paper: Inkjet paper from inkjet paper experts. Look for reviews of new photographic paper and greeting card paper available from Red River Paper coming soon to the Corner Resource Center. In addition, a portion of every purchase made at Red River Paper through this link goes towards supporting the Corner - get some great paper and support your favorite photography site at the same time! And for a limited time, PhotographyCorner members will receive an additional 10% off - click here to get the coupon code.

The April 2010 Corner Newsletter is a little shorter than usual - but you’ll just have to read it to find out why.

Fathers New Bike is the April 2010 Photograph of the Month

April 2010 Photograph of the Month - Fathers New Bike... by Scott111184If you can believe it, “Fathers New Bike…” by Scott111184 - the April 2010 Photograph of the Month - marks the first PotM win here at the Corner by Scott. Scott111184 is not only the April 2010 PotM winner, but also a moderator and regular contributor to the Corner Resource Center. With almost 25% of the votes (you can check out the voting results here), Scott easily won his first Photograph of the Month contest with a photograph of his fathers 2010 H-D Electra Glide Ultra Limited motorcycle.

Because Scott is a moderator (and therefore a Premiere Member), Scott picks himself up a brand new camera bag courtesy of the contest sponsor, DayMen Photo Marketing.

You can browse through the photographs nominated for the April 2010 Photograph of the Month in the April 2010 PotM Photo Gallery, but make sure to check out the winning photograph and congratulate Scott on his win in the April 2010 PotM Award Thread.

Congratulations Scott, on your first Photograph of the Month victory!!! It’s been a long time coming!

Vote for the April 2010 Photograph of the Month

Wow, did the month on March fly by or what? I can’t believe it’s the end of the month already! Of course, here around the Corner, the last week of the month means it’s time to cast our votes and find out which photograph will be crowned the Photograph of the Month. The Premiere Members nominated dozens of photographs, and I have the task of narrowing down those nominations to 12-15 photographs for the community to vote on. Check out the 15 photographs up for the April 2010 Photograph of the Month honours in the April 2010 PotM Photo Gallery - a stacked line-up for sure.

Once you’ve browsed through the photographs (including a double-showing by Oneof42), click over to the voting thread to cast your vote. Voting ends at approximately 4:00pm EST on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 (8:00pm GMT).

The contest is sponsored by DayMen Photo Marketing - Since it’s inception in 1981, DayMen Photo Marketing LP has enjoyed an exceptional reputation in the photographic and consumer electronics industry as an innovative manufacturer and distributor of high quality imaging products and accessories from companies like Epson, Joby, Lensbaby, Slik and Lowepro. If the winner is a Premiere Member, they will receive a camera bag (the winner will have several to choose from) courtesy of DayMen Photo Marketing and 10 PhotographyCorner Pens. If the winner is not a Premiere Member, they will receive a Lifetime, Level 1 Premiere Membership.

So go ahead, check out the photos and cast your vote - your vote may decide who wins themselves a new camera bag!

Reptilia by Brad V is the April 2009 Photograph of the Month

The PhotographyCorner Photograph of the Month contests are always filled with a dozen or so fantastic photographs, but this month it was particularly tough to narrow down a winner. The voting was fairly spread out, but with almost 17% of the votes from a field of thirteen photographs, Brad V pulled out his first Photograph of the Month victory with his photograph titled Reptilia. You have to check out the other entries here in the April 2009 Photograph of the Month Gallery and then check out the final voting results posted here in the Corner forums. Congrats, Brad!
