Usually the day before each Corner Newsletter goes out (look for the 2011-Photograph-of-the-Year-Edition Newsletter to come out later today), we take a couple of minutes to recognize and award members of the Corner who have hit posting milestones over the past month. Commitment Awards are handed out to those who have shown great community dedication & commitment, and have reached a specific post-count milestone (1k, 2k, 5k and 10k). We have one member receiving an award this month: Sharna! Sharna is one of the most active and helpful members of the site (look for her to be added to the Mod Squad soon!), and is constantly helping the Corner to run smoothly - a well-earn award to be sure!

The November 2011 Corner Newsletter should be arriving at “inboxes near you” later today, and before we send out each newsletter we always make sure to hand out Commitment Awards to those that have reached milestones with regards to their post-count in the past month. Commitment Awards are handed out to those who have shown great community dedication & commitment, and have reached a specific post-count milestone (1k, 2k, 5k and 10k). This month we have 3 folks who joined the Corner in April (of 2011) and are each already receiving Bronze Commitment Awards (all 3 averaging almost 5 posts per day!): anjin_nav, WHolmes and Sasquatch. Booyah!

Usually a couple of days before each Corner Newsletter goes out we take a couple of minutes to recognize and award members of the Corner who have hit posting milestones over the past month. Commitment Awards are handed out to those who have shown great community dedication & commitment, and have reached a specific post-count milestone (1k, 2k, 5k and 10k). We have three members receiving awards this month: digital2006, no16caddis, and Jriepe. Jriepe is receiving a broze commitment award for reaching the 1,000 post mark (in just over half-a-year!); no16caddis is receiving a silver commitment award for reaching the 2,000 post mark (took him about 3.5 years to get there!); and a Platinum Commitment Award (only the 7th given out to date!) for reaching 10,000 posts goes to digital2006 - not only has Marty reaching a huge post milestone (in less than 5 years!), but he’s also an invaluable member of the Mod Squad here around the Corner. The August 2011 Corner Newsletter should be “hitting the shelves,” within the next hour or so, and before we send out each newsletter we always make sure to hand out Commitment Awards to those that have reached milestones with regards to their post-count in the past month. Commitment Awards are handed out to those who have shown great community dedication & commitment, and have reached a specific post-count milestone (1k, 2k, 5k and 10k). This month we have 2 folks that really haven’t been around the Corner all that long receiving a Bronze Commitment Award: Sharna and Russ. At the rate these 2 are going, they’ll be getting the Silver Commitment Award for hitting 2k posts in no time!

The Februray 2011 Corner Newsletter is due in the next day or two, and before we send out each newsletter we always make sure to hand out Commitment Awards to those that have reached milestones with regards to their post-count in the past month. Commitment Awards are handed out to those who have shown great community dedication & commitment, and have reached a specific post-count milestone (1k, 2k, 5k and 10k). This month we have 1 person receiving a Bronze Commitment Award: The_Animal. Now, if you’re somewhat active in the forums, you’ll know that The_Animal has been around the Corner pretty much since the beginning (almost 7 years ago), but just hit the 1,000 post milestone last night (and that’s including the use of his Gratuitous Post-Count Increasing Thread). 1,000 posts is 1,000 posts, though. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t take another 7 years to reach 2,000.

We have two members receiving awards this month: MedicGreg, and drc928. It took Greg just over 5 years to reach the 2,000 post milestone (who actually hit it a month ago), and Damon got to the 1k mark in a little under 2.5 years (both on a steady pace of just over 1 post/day!). I’m in the middle of preparing to send out the Corner Newsletter and almost forgot to hand out the Commitment Awards earned in the past month! We have only 1 award to hand out this month: a Gold Commitment Award to chellezfotoz. Commitment Awards are awarded to those who reach certain post milestones (10,000 posts for a platinum award, 5,000 posts for a gold award, 2,000 posts for a silver award, and 1,000 posts for a bronze award) and have shown dedication and commitment to the Corner. Thanks to everyone who continues to contribute to the Corner, and a special thank-you to Michelle - a fantastic moderator, and all-around great person to have in the PhotographyCorner family. Without her help, the Photograph of the Month contests would start late every month!

I’m in the middle of preparing to send out the Corner Newsletter and almost forgot to hand out the Commitment Awards earned in the past month! We have 4 awards to had out this month, including a Platinum Commitment Award to Oneof42 (only the sixth Platinum Award handed out to date). Commitment awards are awarded to those who reach certain post milestones (10,000 posts for a platinum award, 5,000 posts for a gold award, 2,000 posts for a silver award, and 1,000 posts for a bronze award) and have shown dedication and commitment to the Corner. Thanks to everyone who continues to contribute to the Corner, and congratulations to those who are receiving the awards below. A special thank-you to Andy who’s receiving the Platinum Commitment Award - a fantastic photographer, dedicated moderator, and all-around great guy to have in the PhotographyCorner family.

Even though I keep telling everyone I’m not working for the next 2 weeks so I can watch the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, I do plan out writing and sending out the newsletter sometime this week.
