Parallel Waves by Neil Shapiro Wins CCC#84: Parallel

Contest Corner Challenge #84: Parallel Winning Photograph - Parallel Waves by nrshapiroWith his sixth Contest Corner Challenge victory, nrshapiro won Contest Corner Challenge #84: Parallel with his photograph (pictured right) titled “Parallel Waves.” The photo garnered over 1/4th of the votes (you can check out the final voting results here in the voting thread). If you haven’t already, be sure to browse through all 38 of the entries into the contest in the CCC#84 photo gallery, which now shows who took each photograph (you’re more than welcome to comment/tweet/like photos directly from the galleries as well!).

Since Neil is (of course) a Premiere Member, he’ll receive the Lowepro Inverse 100 AW Camera Beltpack (courtesy of Lowepro and Daymen Photo Marketing). Make sure to drop by the award thread to congratulate Neil on his win (and to check out a full-sized version of the winning photograph).

Photograph Parallel Lines for Contest Corner Challenge #84

Lowepro Inverse 100 AW Camera Beltpack - Leafy GreenIf you’re a Premiere Member, the Lowepro Inverse 100 AW Camera Beltpack (courtesy of Lowepro and Daymen Photo Marketing) will be all yours if you enter and win this contest (if you’re not a Premiere Member, you’ll pick yourself up a Lifetime, Level I Premiere Membership). You have until Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011 to get your entries in. Of course, we’re talking about Contest Corner Challenge #84: Parallel.

Oh, and the theme? This one is pretty straight forward (pun intended). Go out and take a photograph where the main elements of the photograph form parallel lines. Remember, you must take the photograph during the contest period (March 7th, 2011 - March 23rd, 2011). You can read all the other nitty-gritty Contest Corner Guidelines & Regulations here. All the contest details are available on the main contest thread in the forums (you can discuss and ask questions here as well).

So go grab your camera, find some parallel elements (they’re seriously everywhere - I bet you can see a dozen examples from right where you’re sitting now), and get your entry in!

Corner Compilation #3

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m finally to the point where I can start catching up on photography industry news. Some of this news dates back over 2 months, but better late than never, eh? I’ll try not to cram too much into each Corner Compilation post, so expect about 10-12 “bits of news” in each compilation. Hopefully I’ll be all caught up in a matter of weeks (cross your fingers). Enjoy the news (mostly Delkin and Lowepro this time around, but trust me, there’s a lot more coming)!

Press Release: LowePro Adds Larger Slingshot Bags for dSLRs

Lowepro, one of the sponsors for the PhotographyCorner.com 2006 Photograph of the Year Contest, just announced they will be expanding their line of Slingshot AW camera bags to include for larger model dSLRs (I might even be giving one or 2 of these away as prizes in the PotY Contest). This is great news for those who really enjoy the slingshot style camera bag (great for short day trips to the zoo, etc), but could never get all their “stuff” to fit, so had to use a larger, backpack-style bag. Read the full press release below:
