Video Corner #107: Selling Your Photography

Today’s ‘Photography Thursday’ Video Corner is not a standard ‘Photography Thursday’ video. Instead of looking at and learning photography techniques, we’ll instead take a look at some of the business aspects of photography. Specifically the video walks us through how to sell your photography. The video explores everything from how to sell your photographs to stores, to what terms to expect and how to work with the retail outlets. The video also looks at licensing your photographs and stock photography. Also, pay close attention to the section that discusses how to increase the perceived value of your photography - it is so easy to do, and it can easily turn your hobby into a full-time profession.

New Stock Photo Site: StockPhotoDirect.com

I know there are a bunch of stock photography sites out there; and there have been numerous debates on stock photo sites versus microstock sites, and whether or not it’s a viable way for photographers to make some money from their photographs. Some photographers simply refuse to sell their photographs via microstock sites, and some even refuse to do stock photography at all. That may be because there are not a lot of good opportunities for amateur photographers to make any decent money with stock photography. A new kid on the block, StockPhotoDirect.com, aims to change that.
