It's time for another "Corner Member Close Up" photographer interview - but this week we're in for a treat: Tamara Eder has won several Contest Corner Challenges, a Photograph of the Month, and she won the Premiere Project Photograph of the Year contest two years ago. Not only are the photographs below spectacular, but I didn't have to make one spelling or grammar correction - that alone makes it a favorite in my books. ;) If you're familiar with Tamara's photography, you'll know her minimalist photographs are spectactular - enjoy the 2 dozen+ photographs below, as well as a fantastic interview filled with some great stories and advice.

Uncommon View is the 2009 Premiere Project Photograph of the Year

Last week we announced that, for the first time ever, the winning photographs of the Premiere Projects from the past year will be pitted against each other and voted on to determine which photograph will be the Premiere Project Photograph of the Year. Voting is now complete (check out the results here), and with over 20% of the votes, Uncommon View, the Premiere Project #59 winning photograph by tamara has emerged as the winner!

Premiere Projects are theme based, and with each project, Premiere Members have the opportunity to challenge themselves to grow as photographers. Each projects outlines a topic for the members to photograph. The photos are then submitted for discussion/critiquing/reactions. At the end of the project period (there’s a new project every couple of weeks), a vote is held to determine which photo best represents the theme while maintaining high photographic quality.

Originally the vote was only going to be among Premiere Members in the Premiere Members Only Section of PhotographyCorner, but the Premiere Members wanted to open voting up to the community at large in attempts to encourage non Premiere Members to support the Corner and become Premiere Members themselves. Tamara's "Perspective Bound" Wins CCC#68: Hit the Deck

Contest Corner Challenge #68: Hit the Deck challenged photographers to get down and dirty by placing their camera on the ground to take a photograph. It didn’t really matter what they photographed, just as long as the camera was on the ground when they took it. Really the contest was all about changing perspective - it’s amazing how different the world looks from 2 inches off the ground. After a week of voting, tamara’s “Perspective Bound” managed to garner the majority of the votes, giving her a total of three Contest Corner Challenge victories.

For winning CCC#68, tamara picks herself up a LowePro Nova 180 AW Camera Bag (courtesy of the contest sponsor DayMen Photo Marketing) and a bunch of PhotographyCorner pens.

Uncommon View is the First Premiere Project PotM

Since late 2008, the winner of each Premiere Project has been automatically entered into each Photograph of the Month contest (see this blog post for all the details). None of the Premiere Project winning photographs, however, have ever beat out all the other fantastic photographs posted on the forum in any given month. None until this month, that is. Uncommon View by tamara - the winning photograph from Premiere Project #59 -, by one vote, has been awarded the September 2009 Photograph of the Month.

You can browse through the photographs that were in the running in the September 2009 Photograph of the Month Photo Gallery, and check out the final voting results in the voting thread. The contest was sponsored by one of our favorite sponsors from Lensbaby.com. Since tamara is a Premiere Member, she will receive a Lensbaby Composer (a a $270 value!).
