More Upgrades Around the Corner

Remember last week when we finally moved into our new, super-fast server? Well, we’re finally all settled in. The Corner is faster than ever, but we’re not done there! Later today (9am EST Monday morning), we’re going to shut the forum down for a bit, and upgrade the forum software. It honestly shouldn’t be offline for more than an hour, but expect the forum to be a little buggy throughout the day, as we fix minor issues. Once we come back online, I’ll post in the Corner Blog again, and we’ll try to get everything fixed ASAP. For further updates while the server is done, you can follow the Corner more closely by following the Corner on Twitter. Oh, and look for a special announcement late on Monday once the upgrade is complete…

Server Upgrades Complete: Site is Faster, Admin is Slower

Well, after fighting with the code and servers for the past 24 or so hours, the upgrade looks like it’s complete. I’ve already done some tests, and the new server is WAY faster than the one we were on. You should notice a HUGE difference.

Corner Compilation #1

There is a lot of news in the world of photography. When I started this blog, I subscribed to as many newsletters, rss feeds, press release sources, industry news, blogs, etc. as I could, so that, if it was happening in the photography industry, I would know about it and could, therefore, pass along all the good stuff to you. A month and a half later, I have 2,698 items sitting in my rss feed reader, which makes me about 2+ weeks behind on the news. Now, if I wanted to catch up, you’d end up having 25 posts a day for the next 3 days (assuming I spent all day posting on the blog, of course), and no one wants that - You don’t want to have to read 75 posts in three days any more than I want to write that many.
