Early Morning Flow by Jim Harris is the October 2010 PotM

October 2010 Photograph of the Month - Early Morning Flow by jaharris1001Photographs of soft, flowing water have taken the last two Photograph of the Month contests (see the August 2010 Photograph of the Month and the September 2010 Photograph of the Month) and jaharris1001 (aka Jim Harris) continued the trend by taking October 2010 Photograph of the Month honors with his photograph “Early Morning Flow” (pictured right). The voting was ridiculously close, though, as Jim pulled off the win by ONE vote, and TEN other entries within 9 votes - one of the tightest votes we’ve ever seen!! Check out the final voting results here.

The contest is being sponsored by one of our newest sponsors here around the Corner: PrintedArt - an online collection of emerging and established fine art photography sold as finished artwork on advanced display material such as acrylic and aluminum dibond. Photographers can also use the PrintedArt photolab to print their own work on the same modern display material.

Since Jim is a Premiere Member, he will receive a production of his photograph on aluminum dibond with acrylic finish (a $150 value) courtesy of PrintedArt. And that photo is going to look fantastic on aluminum dibond.

If you haven’t already, make sure to drop by the award thread and congratulate Jim on his second Photograph of the Month win.

Articles By Amy: Capturing Moving Water in Photography

Articles By Amy: Capturing Moving Water in PhotographyRivers, waterfalls and gently babbling streams are soothing even in photographs. We are automatically drawn to the contrast of blue and white waters passing through brilliant green landscapes, gentle fields of yellowing grass, or tumbling through grey and green moss covered boulders and rocks. How do you capture water in motion?
