Welcome to PhotographyCorner, Peter. Glad to have you here. Your pictures are great. The site is a little old looking, but it gets the job done... and really people aren't there to see your web design skills, but your photographs. What sort of projects to you generally work on? What sort of projects do you wish you were working on more often?

Hi Tim,
You are right about the site, just look at the images. I am a traditional B+W artist, no post exposure manipulation other than burning, dodging and toning. A very rare double exp. I have done a lot of theater and dance but budget cuts has slowed that down. What I do now is sell to literary journals, shoot people for my projects and portraits for women, I get some men but lots of women and lots of artists, gallery catologs. I am working on a second book, the buisness end finances and I have a third that is in a sample chapter stage.
Sounds great but there is not nearly enough work in this economy. Thats photo art work, there is no other job.
All manual Nikons the new one is a 1977 F2A, I also ramble on at times. enjoy pjc

Wow... very impressive that you do no post exposure manipulation... a lot of the photos are very well done, and that's great that you've got a couple books on the go as well... that's a decent way to suppliment your income.

Yeah, it can be tough, for sure... starving artist syndrome, eh? ;) What are your plans to turn this around and make your love of phtoography earn you enough money as well?
I also ramble on at times.
My favourite type... hehe. The more we ramble, the more we learn. I look forward to further conversations with you and learning from you (as I'm sure other members of the community are too!)

Dephie,
I have been photographing since 1971, working for a weekly news paper right out of Paier School of Art. Since 1981 I have been self employed as a free lance photographic artist. I have done a lot of theater and dance and published a book and numerous images in literary journals, portraits, artists and my own art work. I am working on a second book, I self published the first book. Here is a link to the page about my first book and on that page there is a link to a review. The book is a limited edition 500 signed and numbered copies. Very collectable. Are you a photo student? What do you enjoy shooting most. enjoy pjc
