My SonDozer May 14th, 2004, 10:09 PM My son home from boot camp... Dozer Tim L. Walker May 14th, 2004, 10:12 PM Great B&W photo... the focus is great as well. What program do you use to do the borders on the outside? It looks like a Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album border... nice! Mickey May 15th, 2004, 12:57 AM nice shot ! with all that is going on right now it makes you think about the other side. the side of those who are there, Im partial to this due to the wife being deployed right now IT BITES!!! LOL! Dozer May 15th, 2004, 05:11 PM Thanks for all the comments; I used photo shop and the software that came with my camera (Arcsoft) to achieve the soft look to the edges. I have seen some really beautiful frames made with PS and that is next on my list to learn. Mickey, Thank you, I understand how you feel, we all have different opinions about the day’s events going on now but we must never be quick to judge. A soldier’s life is not an easy one… Dozer fromIMR May 16th, 2004, 06:12 AM Nice photo. Personally, I would've liked without the frame. suemack May 16th, 2004, 07:09 AM I love the pose....it's very moving. I think I would prefer the total look with a much finer frame ....at the moment I feel as though I'm focusing on the frame not the pic.....which is a shame as it's such a lovely photo sue jrpublicity May 16th, 2004, 08:42 AM It seems you have captured both your son's emotional state as well as the emotional state of those viewing the photo. You photo achieves an instant understanding. Jenna Mickey May 16th, 2004, 05:06 PM I think the fram dose it justice, It complaments the photo with out being over powering. However if you would want to change anythign about it i would just instead of black maybe go with a dark grey color and make it so it is not so obvious but i think as is it looks great. calum6pac May 18th, 2004, 12:31 AM yeah I agree with mickey, the frame is good but maybe a dark grey would be better as it wouldn't pull your attention away as much. very moving photo though Dozer May 18th, 2004, 01:02 AM Good point, I completely agree… Dozer Thrill00 May 18th, 2004, 01:49 AM Nice shot. I like it alot. The inner glow was a nice touch to give it a softer feel. You can stirr up alot of emotion with a shot like that. Tim L. Walker May 18th, 2004, 01:57 AM Yeah, good point about the inner glow... the black border is a little thick, but the inner glow does give it a good feel... Mickey May 18th, 2004, 02:42 AM this one started soem contervesry on a diffrent borad but it shows what im talking about i really do like your shot i think this one and it are kind of in the same place as far as the color and the way they fit togeather. Im sorry for the subject on it it is not ment to offend, My father never came home so i guess i see this and it hits home mor ethen most. but anyway this is from the cilval war. living here in hell i mean Alabama there is a lot of this type of history in the area so this is not common but not hard to find they actually have maps that you can buy to find the sites Tim L. Walker May 18th, 2004, 02:48 AM Great B&W photograph there Mikey. I think photos like this are important. Too many people, especially in North America are sheltered from the actual cost of war... photographs like these (and the controversial photographs of the coffins taken overseas recently) really help the general public understand. (and it doesn't hurt that this is such a great shot, too!) Mickey May 18th, 2004, 02:56 AM Thanks uflraptor May 25th, 2004, 03:48 PM Dozer, That picture of you son is wonderful. You really captured a moment. I saw it and was immediately touched. I hope your son is well and wish all the best. Shawn Kara May 26th, 2004, 05:42 AM Wow, dozer that pic of your son is great! I love the composition of it, and I think its stunning in B+W  Dozer May 26th, 2004, 01:16 PM Mickey, I love your photo of the unknown solider; I saw this posted on another forum where they suggested that you PS the grave stone in the background out. I’m glad to see that you left it in; it is a much better shot with it just the way it is. Great job! I believe the key to capturing a moving image like this is that the one taking the picture has to be move by what they see first. Then all you need is to learn the skill of using the equipment that is necessary. Thank you for all the comments about my son’s photo; BTW he is fine. Do to an injury he had to have a medical discharge form the Marines. This broke his heart; but considering what is going on now, I’m relieved. My daughter is in the US Navy; and thankfully states side; her ship just returned from Iraq. Again thank you for your comments. mystika June 14th, 2004, 01:16 AM u got my vote | Sponsored Ads: |
