started out wanting to learn more about my camera as I have several tanks of tropical fish and I wasn't very happy with the results of the photos I was getting......am happier now :D
I used the manual settings here. Pic is of a zebra loach

Nice! Taking pictures through water can be tough... what have you changed in the way you take the pictures to make them turn out better?

it took some time to get to know the camera better. The automatic settings often seem to get confused by the glass and the rapid movts of the fish, so using manual gave me better control..... that and taking 1000's of pics till I saw some improvement 8)

I really like that second one... a little more color. ;) That's teh beauty of digital camera's, eh? Just take 100's of pictures until you get the one you want...
How do you do the lighting on the fish through the water?

that particular tank is a 3 ft tank with a fluorescent light that runs the length of it. I mainly rely on the light from that and the flash. I have tried taking pics without the flash but just not enough light

Nice... great shot there (the 3rd one)... must be heard to get that many fish in one shot. ;) Have you tried adding an extra lamp, maybe? The shots seems just a little dark... maybe a fluorescent table light or something would to the trick?

thankyou ....would be better to get some extra light into the tank and one thing on my wish list is a fluoro light with 2 tubes which would help both the photos ;) and the plants in the tank. It's also partially me not getting the settings quite right ...working on that one :D

Hehe... yeah, those 2 tubes will make all the difference, I think... those fish will shine! :D
Keep working on it, and keep us updated. :)
