My first job as a photographer...

Hello everyone! This is my first post here. I'm 20 years old and I'm an amateur photographer. I was recently hired to be a photographer for a new magazine and we are in the process of making the promo issue. The founder of this magazine is allowing me to choose how much I will paid per hour for photo shoots (I'm having one tomorrow!). My question is: what would be reasonable asking price?

How are the pictures going to be used, are you simply shooting some shots and giving it to them ( no touch up ), how much of an 'amature' are you?

I will probably do some light touchs up to the photographs in photoshop. I would say that I'm an intermediate amature. I've taken several photography classes in high school and college and I go out on photo shoots with friends pretty often. I own a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 digital camera and a Canon EOS Rebel 2000 35mm camera. I will be reimbursed for processing and printing.

I would probally base your rate off of this if you are doing it for a magazine.

Myself personally, cheapest I would probally go is 60/hour, absolute cheapest, thats assuming that all images shot, are still mine, and that i'm just offering a licence for them to be used by the magazine, which yuo can determine roughly with the link above. If they want full rights, then would make sense to double if not more the rate I sugested.

If I'm offering a licence, does that mean it should to be written down on an agreement of some sort? By the way, the photo shoot already happened and I only received 15/hour. I only worked for about an hour or so but got paid for two; so I received $30 in total plus money for processing and printing of the photos. I am basically investing my talent for the magazine right now since it doesn't have much funding because it is so new. There will be a meeting on Saturday with the staff of the magazine to choose which pictures we will use (I am the only photographer). I know for sure that two of the photos will be in the magazine, one of them will be on the cover. So, should I request that some sort of written agreement be made? Also, is there any good information on the web or in a book for photographer who are just starting out? Thanks a bunch for all your help so far. :)
