Mickey May 19th, 2004, 04:10 PM This was taken when i was back home for a visit . We went in to the new Desert dome that they have there and this was in the "dark desert" was really a neat place to see but hard to shoot photos in with no tri pod (to many pepole ) but i like this shot hope you do also .
this was taken with a rebel 300-D natural light and a slow shutter speed
Tim L. Walker May 19th, 2004, 09:00 PM It turned out quite well considering you didn't have a tripod, though. Imagine some of the great shots you could have taken with a tripod!
Mickey May 19th, 2004, 09:28 PM oh i own a tri pod just could not use it here i was taking this while the zoo was open i had probbly 50-?? pepole walking threw the area when i took this shot
Tim L. Walker May 19th, 2004, 09:39 PM Duh, I know. ;) I guess I should have said, too bad you couldn't have used a tripod. ;)
sinha_punit May 19th, 2004, 09:39 PM I am interested in the exif info, can you share that..........
some people have very staedy hands and defy the hand holding rule, where as some people are not able to manage even few stops before the limit.
For me, my hand shakes and unless the shutter is above 1/100, I use a tripod,
recently I took some shots, hand held at a much slower speed and I surprised myself with the results
these shots are at

see if you can share the exif
thanks
punit
Tim L. Walker May 19th, 2004, 09:42 PM Yeah, I'm the same way, Punit... I'm too shaky... ;) I'll blame it on football injuries, though I'm sure my fiancée will tell me it's because I haven't quit smoking yet. ;)
Mickey May 19th, 2004, 10:34 PM I am interested in the exif info, can you share that..........
From my understanding that would be giving you my negative and im sorry that will not be posted due to this fact. as far as weather or not i hand held this no i did not hand hold it i stedyed the camera on a rock that was there and shot the photo it took several tries to get it with out anymovment from me or some one running in to me.
Tim L. Walker May 19th, 2004, 10:39 PM EXIF stands for Exchangeable Image File Format, and is a standard for storing interchange information in image files, especially those using JPEG compression. For more info on what exif is, take a look here (http://park2.wakwak.com/~tsuruzoh/Computer/Digicams/exif-e.html#AboutExif) :D
Mickey May 19th, 2004, 10:53 PM ok next question accorrding to this you ave to use a software the reconises that. so if that is the case i will have to figure out how to get ti to come up in photo shop i do not have the canon software loaded on my system i could de the same thing in photo shop and knew it better LOL

Thrill00 May 20th, 2004, 12:04 AM Ulead Instant Viewer does it nice and easy. comes up in a matter of seconds just click on properties and there ya go. If ya want a quick way to check it.
Mickey May 20th, 2004, 01:25 AM i went ahead and installed the Caono software on the puter i was not using it as i have photo shop and a card reader i just cut and past and it is doen with out having to go threw thier wizard everytime.
sinha_punit May 20th, 2004, 03:41 PM the noise is pretty less at iso 400, and at tv = 2.5 and at this size the image looks acceptably sharp too.
I dont think I would have managed such a shot without tripod.
thanks for exif

Mickey May 20th, 2004, 04:03 PM all i did for the shot was put it on a rock and hold it steady i think this was number three of 5 due to pepole bummping in to me so i had to keep retaking it. i have some others that i was moving it also
but thank you
also this is a digital image not a film image, and as a tip the lower the iso the less grain it has in teh film. if i would have thought about it i would have lowerd the iso on this one lower then 400 i would have put ti more like 200 or even 100 to find out if it would have worked better
sinha_punit May 20th, 2004, 07:14 PM yes Mickey, I understand the relation of ISO and Digital noise in digital cameras,
I have a Nikon D70,
All I wanted to say was that canon dig reb too has lower noise, even at iso 400.
But then CMOS sensors are know to have lower noise than CCD sensors and your dig rebel has CMOS sensor.
enjoy your camera
Mickey May 20th, 2004, 08:13 PM ok i thought you were referring to taking it with film, but i have found that it depends on the lighting in the are i have one that i had to crop tighter then i wanted to to get rid of some of the noise that was in it.
also i just found a plugin for photo shop lastnight for noise reduction but i have yet to try it to see if it will help any
