this is the one of the two prints that took the ST and second place in monochrome prints here at the local level. (USAF photo contest) But it was also the one that started my lost in time series for me. the scan on this is not the best as the print is mounted and i have a scanner that refuses to scan a med format neg. correctly
but let me know what you think. Oh one more thing the power lines were supposed to have been touched out but the lab screwed up and i had to have it in that Day or miss the contest. It was mounted and ready to go other then the those $@##% power lines. but anyway let me know what you think.

Wow, looks good Mickey! 2nd place, eh? Congrats. ;) It's funny how one picture can influence so many more, eh? "The one that started it all..." :D

I like the concept, but the cabin is really becoming a part of the background. It is not standing out. While the cabin is deeply buried into the woods, I think it needs to be captured clearly. Right now, the viewer takes 0.1 second to recognize that there is a cabin in the woods. It should be more like 0 second or 0.01 second. There really shouldn't be any delay. Does it make sense? (this is just my opinion)

Yeah, while digital photography and technology is getting there... sometimes you just can't quite capture the essence of a photograph digitally... not yet at least. ;)

this is true when i printed this i had burned the cabin in some and not the trees so the cabin poped more but in p/s it did not happen that way LOL

That's one of those shots that works well in B&W. My guess is it just wouldn't have been the same in color, am I right?

this shot in color really looks bad, also if you can look at it and see it in reverse you would see the normal shot
it has been burned, reversed, printed black and white
and croped to get rid of some of the cluter
