Hello out there! I was just browsing around the net and found this site. I hope it can help me out as I start my journey in digital photography. First off, a little introduction. I am a 19 year old college student who moved from the country to the city earlier this fall. After 2 months of city life, things have become boring and bland and I needed to find a hobby. I've always had an interest in photography but never pursued it heavily because work back home consumed the majority of my free time aside from high school. But now that I'm living a completely different life, I felt the need for something creative. I have a background in digital imaging using landscape design software to render images and provide an idea for our customers as to what their finished landscapes will look like. My dad has a Canon digital Rebel (I wish I could afford one!) and I know what that fine piece of technology can do. I just picked up a Canon Powershot A520 about a week ago and I'm going phot crazy, I didn't realize how much I would enjoy this. I would like to sell my photography somehow, not really sure how just quite yet, but I would like to pursue that venture. I realize that making a business out of this would require a slightly better camera and I could probably sling that if I played my cards right, but right now the A520 is handling things just fine. My mom sold prints in college and paid for a large part of her tuition through her photography so she went out and bought me some CD's from Exposure36 Photography www.exposure36.com and I'm scouring those to help me get along. If anyone has any tips on how to get my feet on the ground selling or marketing my photos I would appreciate it very much. Thanks!
