It still turned out pretty decent... but yeah, looks like the focus was a little too close to the lens. Good work, though... practive makes perfect. ;)

Ahh, yes... you're heading into winter down under just as we head into summer up here. Should make for a good variety of pictures throughout the year that way. ;)

we're lucky in that we don't get too cold here.....but do get an awful lot of mud

liked the shapes of this fruitsalad flower ...taken outside in a fairly dark place in the garden.....

Rose is really nice. Personally, I would've liked without driblet.

These are some great floral photos. I've always liked the ones that capture the moisture.

Yeah, I agree, Shawn. Catching shots with dew or precipitation is always great... it adds a lot of flavor to the shot.

Really nice one Aaron. I always love flower photos. I may just have to post a few of my own photos...

hello everybody,

just found this nice place and thought I'd add some of my photos. Btw how did you already decide on the Picture of the month for may, I mean over here may is still going on ;-)

Details about the picture can be found inside the exif data.

Welcome to PhotographyCorner, Ovidiu. If you have a chance, introduce yourself in the Members Introduction section. I guess the phrase "Photography of the Month for May" is a bit misleading... Maybe I should reword it to "Featured Photography of the Month" ;)

I like your photo... it's a little busy for a flower shot, but the color and dof is good. :D I look forward to seeing more.

I did a close up as well but I was not really happy with the light at that moment. That thing was hanging high above my head so I had no real chance to get into another position to see how it would look if the sun came from another direction.

Btw. I had watched The Last Samurai some days before taking the picture so I was thinking of getting a shot of the perfect cherry blossom - but I think it is an apple blossom

Hehe... looks good nonetheless... I like the 2nd one better for sure. :D Cherry blossom, apple blossom... close enough. ;)

This is one of the first pictures I took when I got my Olympus D-560 not quite a year ago (I just purchased a Minolta A1). I removed the background with the Olympus sofware and brightened it a little. Oh, it is not really an orchid...

Hey Jack, welcome to PhotographyCorner. Great shot! and excellent cropping job. Well done. Tell us more about the shot.

Thank you Tim. I am glad to be a member of what looks like the beginnings of a terrific forum!

The shot was happenstance as the lady across the street was watering her flowers. When she moved on I set the camera to macro and took a few shots. This had the best lighting, and best focus so this is the one I show. Since the Olympus is fully automatic you have to take what the camera gives you and that is why I just 'upgraded' to the Minolta A1. Regardless, I am still very happy with the clarity of the photo.... :D

Yeah, it turned out well... especially considering it was done with an automatic camera. If you have a chance, introduce yourself to the rest of the community in the Members Introduction section. :D

I will do that! I had started to do it earlier but I got waylaid... :(
