Critiques Corner Suggestions

The Critiques Corner, thus far, has been the most active section to this site, and was wondering what people thought about splitting it up into a couple sections. Maybe have a section to just post random pictures, or pictures you just want to share with everyone, and also have a section where you post a picture that you want people to actually critique. How does that sound? I'm certainly open to other suggestions if you have them though.

Maybe you can create some kind of score card for those who are interested. You can create a score card like ...

1. Clarity 1 - 10

1.2. Color 1 - 10

1.3. Line 1 - 10

2. Title 1 - 10

3. Balance 1 - 10

I'm just making up topics but I hope you get the idea. If you don't want to be reviewed based on score card, then you can just post pictures like you do now. If you want to get reviewed based on score card, then you post pictures in ... some new review category.

Just an idea.

Interesting... what do other people feel about being "scored" vs. being critiqued?

I want some more feedback before I make this switch... anyone else? I was thinking of having the Critiques Corner for serious, honest, blatent photo critiques, and then a "Photos for Fun" section, where people can just post up pictures without having to worry about someone "ripping into them"... how does that sound?

I think that's a reasonable approach. If and when this forum has many more members and members include pretty advanced photographers, maybe you can create a couple of different review categories for beginner, intermediate and advanced photographers.

yeah im really into the staggered critique idea. Cos ive noticed in some other boards people who are extremely green have been torn to shreds by some pro and semi pros.

I think that sounds great. In (category)description area, you can let users know that one is for casual photo exchange, kind of like the one you have now, and the other is for a little more serious critique of photography.
