Critique or for fun photos

I am not sure why we have two different sections any more to show photos. It doesn't matter if you post a photo in Just for Fun because those are being critiqued also. I don't have a problem with all of mine being critiqued but some people might. Especially if it's a new person coming in.

I agree Bren. There seems to be a faction here that just doesn't "get it".

hmmmmm.......

lets not turn this forum into a *****Y forum

EDIT: i Apologized for posting a critique (i thought it was posted in there) in a photos for fun forum, but to no avail, shall we then see what the forum as ACTUALLY for, fun photos?
photos you don't think are good enough to be critiqued?? is that not what critique is for? to make you better? to give you input..

if i were you i would look a little harder to for the people that really don't "GET IT"

I was not pointing fingers at anyone. You are not the only one Tin_cup who has used the fun photos for critiquing. I know I forget which one I'm in sometimes and have to look so I don't say something in there I shouldn't. It's easy to do. I just feel we need to enforce it in there or discuss getting rid of that section completely and let all photos be open to critiquing. There are some people who don't like to have their photos critiqued.

i mean the first post i looked at soopah had critiqued herself... i just found it a little bit hypocritical saying some people in here dont get it... and then doing it yourself?? ive literally done it a couple of times... and in this case i apologized as soon as i realized... i think fun photos (like yours with the cows tongue up its nose and pc's Halloween fun) but the ones like these

should be posted for critique

do you know what i mean?

and also the simple solution should be change its name to

NOT FOR CRITIQUE FORUM ;)

can be any arguments over that, and maybe start another called just for fun, or photosharing

Tin Cup, grow up. Seriously. Guilt complex much? You aren't the only one who does it, but if it pleases you to think that much of yourself, go for it.

I post plenty of stuff up for critique, thank you very much, and I would have accepted your apology, if it hadn't been given in such a backhanded way.

Tin-Cup

i said sorry i didnt realise which forum i posted in (as it should have been post in critique anyway)

i really dont see what is backhanded about that... guilt complex... hmmm yeah thats the one....

i think some of your stuff is nice... but as soon as i say i dont like something you throw your rattle out of the pram... *

I can take critique just fine you dork  I didn't post those for critique. Are you having a hard time with that? I jumped on you because you critiqued them, in the Photos For Fun catagory, apologized, then kept right on critiquing.

I have a hard time respecting critiques not only done in the wrong forum, but from someone who wouldn't know fine art lenses from their armpit.

well im not bringing myself down to the insults level.

but i will say from the pictures you posted i would suggest it isnt me that gets mixed up with fine-art and armpits,

Excuse me? Who do you think you are to decide what should be up for critque or not? It's really not up for you to decide what a person feels like getting feedback on or not.

Tin-Cup

nope its not up to me... but however i am allowed an opinion on what a fun photo is and what a serious photo is...

Please ROFL Keep posting! I think I need the entertainment of you making yourself look like an even bigger a$$

So, please, tell me all you know about fine art lenses oh master of all things fine art. Enamour me with your knowledge of them.

And then re-read my post.

Ummm... wow. Look what happens while I try to get some sleep... yes, it happens that people accidently critique some photos in the photo for fun section - so far, it hasn't really bothered anyone, so it's not that big of a deal, I don't think. People should be aware that the photos for fun section is a place for photographs that are not supposed to be critiqued. That being said, I'm sure I myself have made critiquey-type comments on several photographs in there myself. It's a photography forum. That being said, if people think that the Photos for Fun forum should be completely void of critique, I can move posts that fringe on that, though I'd rather not have to do that... I can change the name of the forum, or we could even split what we have into 3 forums if you want to give your suggestions (without flaming other members of this forum  )

Photos for Fun
The perfect place to show off some of your recent shots. It doesn't matter if they're not perfect - we won't critique you here. Just post up some pictures, and don't worry about the technical details of it. Sometimes a picture is just a picture.

How is this unclear?

Alright... I think this thread has run it's course. Things are going to stay the way they are - if you have a suggestion on how to better word the forum descriptions or create a new section, just email me or PM me.

This thread is now closed - there is nothing to see here - move along, people, move along. ;)
