I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember!
I got my first SLR for Christmas 5 years ago and have had a yearn to learn ever since then!
As it says in my signature, I have a Minolta QTsi....I LOVE my camera and was going to upgrade to a DSLR in the same brand in January, problem is, in August of this year, Minolta announced that they will cease the sales of all Minolta products in Canada....:(
Hopefully I will be able to find a DSLR that I love just as much as my Minolta!
I cant wait to share some of my work and meet you all!

I *SO* wish I could stay with Minolta, I have had nothing but great experiences with mine, but if I cant even get repairs done here, what is the point sticking with it, right?
I hope I can find some help on these boards, help with finding the best DSLR for me!

jilliah10 December 1st, 2005, 05:25 PM Welcome and good luck on finding a DSLR that suits your needs. There are lots of them out there. I'm a Nikon user and think you should consider the D50 or d70s. Not sure of your budget though...you'll get lots of great info here.

If I end up not going with Minolta (I am going to Vegas in May and think I might just end up sticking with Minolta, just not sure how smart that would be if I have to send the camera to another country if it needs to be fixed...But i have 2 Minolta lenses, and think it would be GREAT if I could use them on my digital aswell:))
But I was researching alot this past week, and the only camera I feel that I would go with if not Minolta would be the Nikon:) I was actually looking at the D70, but my budget IS $1500 Canadian....I think it costs that American, so not sure if I will be able to afford it.....
Thank you SO MUCH for your suggestion!!!!! I was hoping someone would throw something out there for me:D It is so hard to venture out when you are so comfortable with the brand you already use!
