PictureCow October 6th, 2004, 07:11 PM Holy cow!! How cool is that! Looks like some kind of hawk! :D
herins October 6th, 2004, 07:34 PM That's a strange thing to have on your car! He looks really little too. The third pic needs a caption (whatchoulookinat?)
Vibrio October 6th, 2004, 08:12 PM it's called a sparrow hawk. it's a protected bird in the UK. prays on small birds by suprise low level swoops
core_17 October 6th, 2004, 08:20 PM That is an odd place for it to land. Don't think I've ever seen a bird land on a car before, much less a bird of prey.
Tim L. Walker October 6th, 2004, 08:30 PM The 3rd shot is great... I hope it didn't scratch the car.
GerryDavid October 6th, 2004, 08:57 PM That is an odd place for it to land. Don't think I've ever seen a bird land on a car before, much less a bird of prey.
Maybe it thought the car was a huge mouse? :0)
Cool find. Perhaps you can leave food outside to tempt it to stay around and keep coming around. :0)
Vibrio October 6th, 2004, 10:04 PM not actually checked to see if it's scratched. never even crossed my mind. just though picture, get camera, change lens lol
Tim L. Walker October 6th, 2004, 11:16 PM Hehe... priorities: photograph over car... ;)
Vibrio October 7th, 2004, 12:02 AM well the car would still have been there in a couple of minutes time
RobW October 7th, 2004, 12:37 AM Hoping he didn't poop on your car
That third shot is cool, almost like the bird knows how to pose for the camera. Did you use a mirror lens?
lucian October 7th, 2004, 03:40 AM The 3rd one is wonderful! Caption, yes - "I got my rights".
Vibrio October 7th, 2004, 07:10 PM canon EF 70-210mm USM
Soopah October 7th, 2004, 07:36 PM I've had that "moment of panic" before. Third shot is great!
This is why I want an extra DSLR body, so I can have various lenses attached
mspearman October 12th, 2004, 04:47 AM Very cool! It looks like a miniature of the hawks we have here in Ohio. I miss the shot everytime I'm close to one here. They're protecting them so I see more and more every year though. The claws on this one look so out of proportion to the rest of him.
