When shooting people, especially the homeless, I always maintain great distance for respect. I like the grain in these.

i like the anonymous nature of the images that speaks volumns about the anonymous nature of the subjects (as most people see the homeless). do you have others that are portraits?

There's a good doc. on homeless, well it's more about tain hoppers, but it's kind of the same, anyways it's called "Catching Out." It's pretty intresting. In the next year or so I hope to have a book about train hopping and the involved culture published.

the only post work was adjustments in levels. i always shoot the homeless from a distance with zoom; they never know and it respects their privacy. thanks everyone for the comments!

Haunting shot. Your respect of the subject is laudable. I know some homeless. Many of us are one major illness, job loss or other catatastrophe, away from the same life..

You've achieved strong emotion here - great stuff.

Superbly done, Jon, has such a strong sense of atmosphere, of night, of dejection. Excellent tones too, I really love this.
