Article: Rodeo Photographer Does Not go 'Unnoticed'
link removed - article is no longer there

Summary: An interesting article on the life of a Rodeo Photographer. When I first read it, I didn't think anything special about the article worth sharing, but then noted something of interest:Rodeo photographer Dudley Barket of Stephenville explains that a good photographer should go unnoticed by the crowd. "They aren't there to see me," he said. "The focus should always be on the rodeo action"... "Taking a good picture is all about timing," detailed Barket. "You have to slow your mind down and see the action."

Question: Although the article is specifically about rodeo photographers, there are some good points made that every photographer should keep in mind. The focus should never be on you, the photographer, but always the subject of the photographs Timing can be crucial when taking good photographs - "You have to slow you mind down and see the action." Sell yourself through relationships and word of mouth, and you'll always have a business above waterIf you had to pass along one key point to a new photographer, or someone thinking of starting their own photography company, what would that one point be?

Those are actually some good points. I hate it when photographers, especially at weddings, always seem to be scurrying around and in the way... staying "out of focus" is important. ;)
Cute article.

Yeah, I liked the quote "You have to slow your mind down and see the action." It's very true, sometimes, when taking pictures... The point about selling yourself through relationships is very true as well... People won't hire you solely based on your work...
