I think the only thing keeping this from being an A+ image is the field of focus puts the second half of the fish out of focus. I normally take images of fish with the camera set to shutter priority and depending on the subject the shutter setting of 1/30,1/60 or 1/125. Are there any tricks to widen the field of focus on photos that are done in macro mode? The fish itself is no longer than 2 1/2 inches.

I agree with your evaluation regading the DOF. About the only way you could increase the DOF without using smaller aperture (which doesn't always work) is to use a wider angle lens. Longer lenses tend to decrease DOF and wider ones increase it. This may or may not be a feasible solution, however. Are you using external flash or is that strictly the aquarium lighting causing the glare?

no flash is used when I do aquarium photos normally.
