Bout ready to make my choice

I'll be going for a CAnon POwershot Pro1 or a KOnica Minolta DiMage A200.

I need the 8 pixels and since is SLR like that would do for now. I think im leaning towards the Konica more those. What are your experience with Knica CAmaras?

We have a local Police Department crime lab that uses the Minolta Dimages. I beleive it's a good camera, but for a couple hundred more you can get a really nice interchangeable lens SLR with the lens. If you're set on a fixed lens SLR, I'd go with the Panasonic Lumix. It has a better lens and better focal length range for about the same price. You're not going to notice much of a difference between 5 megapixels and 8 with these cameras. Especially on the Lumix which houses Leica glass.

Just to throw something else into the mix -- take a look at the Kodak EASYSHARE Z7590 Zoom Digital Camera or even the new DCS Pro SLR/C which uses Canon lenses or you can get one for Nikon lenses. I have never used either but I do know that they normally make a good product at a reasonable price.
