Nikon 28-200 G Series lens question

I'm considering the purchase of the Nikon 28-200 G Series lens.

I have an N90. Will this lens be fully compatable with my camera?
If not, what features will I loose?

G-type Nikkor lenses are fully compatible with the F5, F100, N80, N65, N60, N50, N4004-series, PRONEA 6i, PRONEA S, D100 and D1-series (or any newer model) cameras. They are not compatible with other Nikon cameras. For the F4, N90-series, N70, N8008-series and N6006 cameras, only programmed auto or shutter-priority auto exposure mode can be used.

hmmm...so, on my camera, I CAN use:
P & S

but I CAN'T use:
A & M

is that correct?

What about the modes like Cu, Po, La, Hf, Sp, etc?

not sure about the other modes..A friend of mine is using an older model N70. It must be similar to the N90 you cannot set the Aperture with the camera body.
In the modes like Cu,Po,La,Hf,Sp the camera automatically chooses aperture so it seems like it would work in those modes..Kaye's N70 works in those modes. That is about all she uses.

I saw your other post where you didn't want to spend the $$ on the 2.8 Nikon lens...I have 2 2.8 Nikon lenses that I purchased from a pro photographer when he went with the new VR model you can always go for used at much better prices....I got the Nikon 80-200 2.8 all the way for under 600 bucks 2 years ago..seems like they would be cheaper now with the new VR technology out there. The G series lenses are much lighter to carry around. I am not familiar with other brands so I can't help you there.
