Hi Folks,

I'm planning to go for macro photography, So do let me know which is having higher advantageExtension Tubes(ET) or Macro bellows(MB) ?

I have already posted this same query in another photography forum and got some suggestions for external usage with ET and Studio work with MB.

They were stating that the MB are not viable to use outdoor, But I have seen novaflex is producing MB for EOS cameras which supports all funtions AF funtions, means it should be usable in outdoor too is in it ?

Also pls. let me know your experience with MB on EOS cameras (I use Elan IIE)

I use extension tubes sometimes for Macro shots. I find them acceptably flexible, and suitable for some outside and even hand-held applications at lower levels of magnification. I cannot compare this to bellows, but I've seen others using tubes (never bellows, so far) outdoors. Also, I use a Nikon and can't help you with EOS stuff.

To my understanding bellows provide you with more fine tuning, flexibility and focusing options.

trammway, no I am one of the smarter of the bunch using a Nikon. I was just in conversation this morning actually with a co-worker in regards to bellows and this what I passed on to you is simply what I had recently learned this morning. Sorry I don't have any more help to offer you.
I've seen bellows at www.keh.com Perhaps they may be of more assistance to you.

I use a Canon 100mm macro lens mounted on a focusing rail which gives me accurate control while mounted on a tripod. I also have extension tubes, which work well to decrease your minimum focus length with existing lenses and giving you more flexibility with existing lenses. No experience with a bellows, so I can't offer much there.
