Took this at a local track meet. There was only one wheelchair athlete competing. According to the PA, he has represented Canada at the Paralympics. Wish I knew his name.
I wish the yellow rope was not in the way. Other than that, any suggestions? It was my first time using the pan technique.

This is a great shot. There's a new tool in Photoshop CS2 that would take care of that rope quickly (vanishing point is the tool), but you could do it with a clone stamp (just take longer)
It's not that bad being there, though.

This shot turned out very well with rope and all.

The rope doesn't bother me either. Most sporting events have some sort of barrier usually between the event and the spectator anyway. I really love those with the ability to use the panning method like this. The background does look like it's moving and the subject is in focus except for the motion in his arms. I think its a great capture. (Maybe I should attempt this again...last time I kept getting kicked in the face while trying to shoot my son swinging...guess I should have stood out beside him instead of almost right in front of him....not cool!.)
