Tripod question

I have a bogen/manfrotto tripod. I think it's the nature one that's really pretty green. (oh god, I'm such a girl). The head is also bogen/manfrotto but it has all the twisty knobs. I was in the camera shop the other day and saw one with the cool trigger. Is this one better or should I stick with mine. I can never get the knobs right and it's really frustrating :x

Like my big technical words? ie, twisty knobs and cool trigger.

If you are having trouble with it, then switch.

The best tripod in the world will do you absolutely no good if you don't use it.

I have a couple manfrotto quick release tripods... I'll never go to anything else, except when I need to travel light.

The one I was looking at you squeeze and then swivel the camera around. I guess my question would be is it harder to get the camera level?

If there are levels on it it may be easier to get level. :0) It all depends on what you use it for. The ones that lets you turn the camera 90 degree's to the side for portrait pictures are pretty nice. Mine does this but tilts to the right so the shutter release is on the bottom, poorly designed. :0) Now if it tilted 90 degree's to the left, that would be great. There are some that even let you take the top part off and put it on underneith the tripod so you can get super low to the ground.

Mine has the quickrelease but just one release for it, so its a pain to use it on 2 cameras. Still gotta email vivitar to see if I can buy another one, actually I think I did, no reply, hmm.

So pretty much youll have to try some different ones out and see how comfortable it is for you to use. Weight is also an issue.

If you just want a lightweight one, for when your walking around and such Id suggest just getting something cheap - and looking at it as disposable.

Come to think of it I think it did tilt to the left. I wondered why it didn't go the other way but really didn't pay that much attention to it. I figured I wasn't gonna buy it then so I wont get that attached.

something else that you can get for the camera that relates to a tripod is *doesnt know the name of it* something that you connect the camera to via the tripod screw mount, and it looks like a C, the camera goes on teh bottom part of the C, theres a hand holder thing on the lower middle of hte C and at the top, a flash connects up. Then you can wire the flash and camera together. :0) With this the flash is high enough to not give red eye.

Hmmm, I really wish I knew what that was because it sounds kinda cool.

Gerry, do you mean a flash bracket? They're pretty cool.

Could be that. Im not sureif I like the handle as something to hold away from the tripod, to me its alot of weight on a not normal holding angle, but im not use to it.

The name of the bracket is stroboframe or some variation of that. :0)
