1) April Showers Bring May Flowers....
Another month, another newsletter. But what a month it has been here on PhotographyCorner.com! Contest Corner Challenge #13: Portraits, saw more than 60 entries - our biggest contest yet! We have easily surpassed the 2000 member mark with over 2200 members, and we are quickly approaching 10,000 topics and 100,000 posts! With an average of over 200 posts/day since PhotographyCorner started (just over a year ago - Happy Belated Birthday to us!), and an average of almost 400 posts per day so far in the month of May, we are quickly establishing ourselves as one of the more active photography communities around. Thanks to everyone who participates on the site, and especially thanks to all those who contribute to the site and help make it run. The "Corner" could only be as good as it is thanks to all you people!!
2) Contest Corner Challenges
As I previously noted, the Contest Corner Challenges are getting more and more popular, as more and more members continue to enter them. CCC#13: Portriats, saw one of our first contests with a prize! Up for grabs is a complete website from one of our parters: TalentFolio.net. Final voting for CCC#13 is on now, and finishes May 17th, so make sure you drop by the Contest Corner and cast your vote!
CCC#14 will be starting up in a couple of days, and it, too, has THREE great prizes to be won. The contest will be announced on May 18th, so be sure to check on so you can get in on the CCC action!
3) Photography Resources
Our Photography Resources section continues to grow and grow. With close to 50 articles, tips and tutorials (with more being added every week), it is becoming a great resource to photographers of any skill level. If you're interested in submitting a tutorial or article for our resources section, send an email to resources@photographycorner.com - if you have an idea already, or just want to contribute, let us know, and we can put you to work. ;) If you haven't checked out the resources section lately, make sure you do, as there are some great new articles in there (that are also featured later on in the newsletter). http://www.photographycorner.com/photography-resources.php
4) Advertising and Promotion
One of the best ways to help continue the growth of PhotographyCorner is through our advertisers. As more advertising revenue comes in, it allows us to expand the services offered for free here at PhotographyCorner.com. If you know of anyone who is interested in advertising on PhotographyCorner, or you know of some companies that may be able to supply prizes for some of our contests, have them email us or give them a link to our advertising page: http://www.photographycorner.com/photography-advertising.php
Another way to help the site grow is through promotion. Do you own a website or a blog? How about sticking up a link or a banner to PhotographyCorner.com? Are there some sites that you visit where you know other members there would love the Corner? Let them know! If you want access to some banners that you can put up, check out: http://www.photographycorner.com/photography-banners.php And hey, don't forget to use the "Email this topic to a friend" link at the bottom of every thread. Your friends will thank you! ;)

These newsletters are pretty fun to write. I hope you enjoy reading them as well. For myself, it's a bit of a reflection back on where the site has been, and where it is going. It's kinda neat to see the growth of the site from one month to the next. It's great to see so many people participating, learning and growing on PhotographyCorner; from the large number of entries in our Contests, to the growing Premiere Membership and participation in our Premiere Projects, to the number of tutorials and articles being submitted to the site (In addition to the ones I've put up in the past week, I have over a dozen more waiting to be posted!). We've got such a wide diversity of photographers here on the site, from beginners, to pros, yet we all manage to help each other, learn and improve together. That's really the whole point of the forum, and it's great to see it happening month after month here around the Corner. With spring finally here, and summer coming up soon, I fully expect people to haul out their gear and get outside and take some photographs. There are some great contests coming up, with some excellent prizes from very generous sponsors, so make sure you check into the site so that you can get a jump on the upcoming contests! ;)
That's all from me for now. As always, feel free to give me some feedback either by responding to this email, or letting me know in the forum. Suggestions and comments always welcome.
See you around the Corner,
Tim L. Walker
