Dancer in Motion

This picture was taken at the Stanford Mother's day PoW WoW. I know the background is really distracting but I kind of like this shot.

IMO it's just OOF, maybe if you used a faster shutter speed, blurring would be minimized or eliminated

It would have been an effective shot if the stationary objects didn't show as much motion as the dancer. Using a slow shutter speed to depict motion is a great effect, but you HAVE to keep your camera steady for that effect to work.

I think that a more conservative shot (stopping the action and with an OOF background) to show off the traditional dress would have work well...
