I was going to get a Lexar until I read this....

i realize there will be a fix, but i don't even want to have to deal with the problem at all. :)

Does anyone have any reasons or reccomendations for a certain 80x card manufacturer? i'm looking for a 1gb right now. :)

80x though?

Kingston Elite Pro = Write 8mb / Read 10mb
Scandisk Ultra II = Write 9mb / Read 10mb

9mb/sec = 60X 10mb/sec=66X

Canon 20D reads about 6mb/sec so the 80x is a waste of $$$.

Every compact flash card that i own is a Lexar. I love there compact flash cards. I own a 512mb 40X, 1gb 40X, 1gb 80x and a few months ago bought the 2gb 80x. I have never had any problems with these memory cards and they come with a lifetime warranty. And there is software for them that if you accidentally delect a photo off the card you can recover it and it will be exactly the same as before it got deleted. Nathan

I'd wait for the fix. To say you'd rather have something that has never had problems....we're in the digital age. Anything and everything at some point will have problems. Be glad there's a quick fix and that it's only affected certain few cameras.

I am with Lensdude on this. I have several in different sizes but not smaller than a gig. They are also used industry wide by top professionals.

I use the Delkin pro cards. They are 75x with a lifetime warranty. And I machine washed them in cold once. Didn't mean too, but they still work. You can get the 1gig for an average of $116 and the 2 gig for $199
