Canon Digital Rebel Macro Lens?

I want to get a decent macro lens for my Canon Digital Rebel. I have a telephoto but I don't know from where it came (it was a gift). Any suggestions? Where is a good place to get any Canon lens (telephoto, macro, etc.)? Thanks!

Anywhere is good, just make sure you get good customer service and an american warranty. also take a look at the tamron 90mm macro. sharp lens and less than the canon version, but not by much.

Where can I find the Canon version? I can't seem to find Canon lens.

look at b&hphoto. they have it in stock. its a 100mm macro around the $500 price range

If you want a very good macro lens for your digital rebel that you don't want to use on any other EOS body then take a look at the Canon EF-S 60mm Macro USM. This lens has similar characteristics to the 100mm lens but designed specifically for the APS sized image sensor in your digital rebel camera.

Ouch! That's expensive.

Are you absolutely set on Canon?

Because if you want cheap, the Sigma 50mm F2.8 EX Macro is a brilliant little piece. I recently snagged a new-old stock unit for $250cdn. For 1:1 mag it doesn't get any cheaper than this.

Otherwise the Canon 50mm F2.5, it's a bit more, and only does 1:2 mag unless you buy a special adapter, which is about the same price as the lens itself.

Promaster (in this case is a Cosina) has a lens that is a 100mm macro for around $250-$300

I love using the Canon 18-55mm lens for macro shots. I can get about 6 in. from the object and it will focus clearly on the object. I also own a quanteray 70-300mm with macro at 300mm which works great with getting close shots of flowers and such as long as you are 3-4 foot away from the object. Nathan
