What flash, lenses and other accessories to get?

Hi! I'm an amateur wedding photographer, and I'm upgrading from a Nikon F3T to an F6. My question is; what flash should I get for my new camera? I read online that the Nikon SB-800 is one of the best flashes out there. What do you recommend? I want the best I can possibly get. I shoot on location, at all times, night and day. I also need a wide angle zoom lens. I'm new to zoom lenses, new cameras, and wedding photography. Which wide angle zoom lens should I buy?
I highly appreciate any advise. Thank you.

First question, why not invest in a digital slr? Use the current film for a back up.

The SB800 is a great flash, will work wonders for you. Also the Metz 57, and the Nikon SB-28 or SB600 will also do good. The Metz and SB800 will provide with a ton of options.

What is the advantage in going digital? I've never use digital cameras. I think I'll buy the SB800. Thank you.

The advantage is the instant result of your shot and no film processing costs. Less changing a roll of film because you get more shots on the media card than a roll of film.

The disadvantage of digital, especially for wedding photogs, is the much narrower exposure range.

Digital sensors have a much harder time getting a bright white wedding dress and a crisp black tuxedo both properly exposed in one frame. You generally lose detail in either the highlights or shadows when you have that much range in a shot.

With the ectra couple of stops latitude that good, pro quality film can handle that's much less of a concern.

Just something to think about when contemplating the switch.

I've been shooting about 70% digital and 30% film at my weddings. Everything I've sold has been from digital. I've not had any problems with the exposure.

Thats usually the issue when you have to deal with the slower lens. If you can get a f/2.8 or faster lens, and probally ISO 200-400 or so, you shouldnt have an issue. The exposure range also depend on which digital, which lens, was the shot correctly exposed when shot, also what type of film are you comparing to? Cheaper stuff, or the more expensive stuff? I know several that shoot weddings with digital and long as they have the proper lens and such to do the work, they dont have a problem with what you speak of.

How does the lens enhance a sensor's dynamic range? A digital sensor's range is no more than 4-5 stops, regardless of how expensive the lens in front of it.
I doubt a pro shooting a wedding is going to be using Kodak Max. There is no digital sensor that can come within 2 stops of Fuji NPC or Kodak Portra film, regardless of what lens you use.

I know wedding photogs that shot all digital, and they do fine. But the ones I know are always looking for a new digital sensor that will allow them to get enough dynamic range for a good bride and groom portrait without a lot of postwork.

I have a lot of reading to do. I will go ahead and keep my F6, and in the future I will look into buying a digital camera. For now, I'm off to the book store.
