Another From Last Week's Shoot

Here is another of Shannon from our shoot last week. Pose is rather simple but effective. All of her weight is on her left knee, she is leaning toward the chair back slightly, her face is turned away from the direction that her body is facing and her head is tipped toward the feminine (high) shoulder.

My critique:

1. Left arm too straight, left hand grasping instead of flowing.

2. Wrinkles in her blouse.

3. Hair is not "fixed" properly.

4. Right foot should be on tip toes.

5. Flat lit.

Your critique?

I agree with the left arm,... maybe if she were a little closer to the back of the chair, her arm would more naturually bend... the sheet on the bottom is a little wrinkled around the chair, too... Another thing I noticed was her pants... they flair out, which is in style, but on the right leg, they seem to flair out a little too much... maybe if she was on her tip toes, like you said, that might fix that. Looks good, though :!:

Nice! Where do you do your shoots? Do you have your own studio, or do you rent one out? What were these photos of Shannon for?

I own my own studio on Main Street in my hometown. This shot was done in my "High Key" camera room. I also have another camera room for low key work. Once or twice a year, I ask Shannon to come in for a free shoot and I try out new poses, or new backgrounds or new lighting set ups so I will not look too stupid to customers when I use the new idae on them!

Maybe it's the way this jpeg file is created, but ... I don't know, the photo looks kind of blur. Lacks sharpness.

I'm pretty sure Benji would have used a soft filter on the picture... it generally helps with skin flaws and whatnot... quite common with photographs of women.

Thanks for the tip.

I think I mentioned this before somewhere, but I used to do the same thing, except I was a poor student, so I used pantyhose instead of a soft filter... works great, though. ;)
