Thrill00 June 16th, 2005, 07:36 PM Sure. It's a monument in a country grave yard. Here's the orriginal.

sweetrosie_99 June 16th, 2005, 07:43 PM Very nice. I like the colors
jimmytwotoes June 16th, 2005, 09:33 PM i like the original better than the one you fixed up.
Thrill00 June 16th, 2005, 09:59 PM i like the original better than the one you fixed up.
Yeah, I knew there would be some who liked the orriginal more than the manip. Different people are drawn to different things :) I'm probably going to display both, since they convey completely different feelings.
Thanks for lookin guys.

Very true
I love the edited one. The original is nice but seems more common. IMHO
amy lou June 17th, 2005, 01:11 AM I like the edited one best. Congrats on a job well done
Brad V June 17th, 2005, 01:38 AM Id love to know what you did in post processing. I have a few graveyard pics myself, and would like to mimic your effect.
Nicely done.
kris10 June 17th, 2005, 01:48 AM Wow, these are both great. Great edit work!!!
sunnydays June 17th, 2005, 02:36 AM Great editing work. I like them both. The first one is awesome.
Thrill00 June 17th, 2005, 02:54 AM Thanks for lookin guys. As for post work, I just duplicated the layer a few times, added a color overlay (with the vivid light blend option) for the top layer, and color burn overlay set on the middle layer. Played with the layer blending options to get the desired effect, and took the eraser tool at a low opacity and brought out the detail in the clouds from the middle layer.
Thats the gist anyway. Basicly just duplicate layers and play with dark color overlays and blending options and you can get a nice dark erie image.
alliecat June 17th, 2005, 03:05 AM wow. really cool. love the angle you shot this at. i like them both alot. they both give a completley different feeling. amazing what a little color can do!!
JustJerk June 17th, 2005, 03:10 AM wow - The edited one I thought was actually a drawing - great colors.
The orginal is pretty cool w/ that sky. If it was a clear day, it wouldn't have worked. A :msred:
MzDragon June 17th, 2005, 03:19 AM Ok now Im inspired to read my Photoshop manual. I just cant wrap my brain around layers. I really like what you did to the shot.
kris10 June 17th, 2005, 12:22 PM I just cant wrap my brain around layers.
I couldn't when I first started photoshop but they are very powerful. I am reading my mom's Photoshop 7, Fast and Easy book and it takes you step by step through using curves, layer effects, filters, etc. You should definitely try some of that stuff. You will love it once you start to grasp it.
Thrill00 June 17th, 2005, 05:02 PM Yep, layers is what made me fall in love with photoshop all those years ago. Sure, everyonce in a while I cheat on her with her sisters Illustrator and ImageReady, but all in all its been a good healthy relationship.
Kara June 17th, 2005, 05:38 PM Very nice Will! I like both versions, they offer different feels.
pelowell June 17th, 2005, 06:01 PM Well I'm inspired to go buy photoshop but my computer wont handle it, awsome work by the way
locoalvarez38 June 17th, 2005, 06:53 PM The first one gives a very dramatic feeling, I really like it. On the other hand the original one gives a more pleasing feeling.
Both are very good.
Thanks for sharing
Loco

I'd be willing to bet that your computer will handly SOME version. Maybe not CS2, but I'd be willing to bet PS7 would work fine. It can be had in bargain bins at computer shops for pretty decent prices.
saraq June 18th, 2005, 05:06 AM Whoa! I really like the first pic you posted. I think it really conveyed the feeling of the title you gave it. Nice work! :D
