1) The Big Contest is Here!

I love this time of year. Sure, there's the snow (at least up here in Canada), and the Christmas lights and holiday parties and all that good stuff, but for the past 5 years, it's also meant it's time for the Photograph of the Year contest! And it's back on, baby!

This year we have over $10,000 in prizes to hand out, including a grand prize worth $3,250!! Check out the stunning list of prizes on the 2011 Photograph of the Year Prizes page ( ). We've got a fantastic group of sponsors ( ), including Depositphotos and SmugMug, so you're not going to want to miss this one.

All of the info for the contest is listed (or linked to) on the main contest page - so make sure to bookmark it and head back there throughout the contest:

Entries are due in by January 6th, 2012 (less than a week!), and voting will begin on January 11th. There are some FANTASTIC entries so far - have you entered yet?

6) Premiere Membership HALF PRICE SALE

Sure, Premiere Memberships are on sale... but what's a Premiere Member? Good question.

Premiere Members have access to the Premiere Corner (a private forum), and can exclusively participate in Premiere Projects run by Nikon_Mario (think of them as online group photography classes). In addition, Premiere Members can nominate photographs for the Photograph of the Month contests, and are eligible to win bigger and better prizes for various contests (like in the current Photograph of the Year contest). Premiere Members have larger gallery space, and can upload larger photos, and have some profile perks (like full ranking icons, and custom rank names, etc). On top of all that, Premiere Members support the photography community they use and love.

Right now we're offering you a chance to get in on the action - at HALF PRICE. You can either become a Level I Premiere Member for $29/year or $39.50/lifetime (regularly priced at $79), or you can become a Level II Premiere Member for $49/year or $64.50/lifetime (regularly priced at $129)! Check out a full list of the Premiere Membership perks here:
