Re: Duck

I love it, and I wouldn't brighten it any.

Re: What Is the "Critiques Corner"?

Grif04, thank you much this does help clarify matters.

(What I was asking in my last question was whether or not the Critiques Corner was still reserved for images people felt they'd more or...

Re: Great Blue Heron

Stunningly beautiful. The action, the colors, the subject's place in the frame. I love the boldness of the landscape contrasted with the shimmer and pattern of the water; how the bird cuts through...

Re: Cranky Sea Lion

Tight crops typically are favored for portraits, but I think this one goes so far as to feel suffocating. Clarity and sharpness, too, leave something desired. I do like the expression of the subject.

What Is the "Critiques Corner"?

Hi, everyone. I've been away from PhotographyCorner.com for several months, now, and it looks as if a few things have changed. For instance, the "Critiques Corner" appears no longer to exist: it has...

Re: dogs at play

I like this shot very much, for the same reason for which Ohenry does: it nicely captures an exciting moment. I played with the image on my computer, leveling the horizon: altogether, I think the...

Re: lens hood??

Rarely, if ever, shall I use a lens hood. Usually, one can see if flare will be a problem in an image, and, in such an instance, a lens hood will probably be inadequate (or, a well-placed hand to...

Re: Book ..... another f/20 shot

I think I prefer the last version. What's the original background like?

Re: Book ..... another f/20 shot

I'm not sure if you were going for this, but the book looks to be "floating" in space, which I find to be somewhat unsettling. Also, the framing with the subject pushed so far over to the top right...

Re: Swans at Dawn

I love the second picture, but I find the first to be too empty for my taste.

Re: No I have done nothing...Himalaya in Sepia

I think this is a decent, technically-sound picture, though the sepia tone seems not to lend anything to it. As well, somehow, the sense of vastness and grandeur I expect to see in a photograph of...

Re: Rocks

Thanks much for your critique, Musteno802. I often hear people talk of "adjusting levels," but, honestly, I'm not even sure how I'd go about doing this in my image-editing program. As for contrast, I...

Rocks

The title says it. Do you feel the image works?

Thanks.

Re: Velvet Elk

The picture feels boring to me, considering the dead-center framing of the subject and bland colors, overall; as well, there's an odd softness to the entire image, and nothing seems to separate the...

Re: A summer bee

No offense, but I think this might be more a "feedback" shot than a "critique" one. I do like the composition, but everything else is just missing all I can really make out are a purple shape and a...

Re: Tiger Eyes

Very nice shots. I think I prefer the first for its composition and the second for its warmth, but each image has its appeal.

*Fotosee168, I think it's a Critiques-Corner no-no to post images in a...

Re: Sunflower Seedlings

I like the angle, and I feel the image works well, but I do find myself wishing for a higher-reolution version of the shot, in which I could really see a bit more detail.

Re: Orange Flower

I'll be the odd duck: I love the background. As I looked at the image, it was the first thing that caught my eye, but not in a readily "bad" way more..."curious." All right: it could be a toilet...

Re: Sunbathing Croc

As a moment, this must have been quite exciting, but, the photograph, I find, is just bland and uninteresting. Your angle and composition, I'd say, are the weakest points, but even the crocodile's...
