1) Learning Photography with Videos

It seems a little strange to learn about the art of still images via the art of moving images, but short of hands-on, face-to-face learning, video is one of the best ways to both show and tell all things photography. From basic photography techniques to advanced post-processing tips and tricks, the new section of the Corner Blog simply called the "Video Corner" will host a series of short (usually 3-10 minutes) videos from a variety of photographers. We're really excited about this new section, but we'd love to know what you think. What do you like best about the videos? What do you want to see more of? Less of? How often do you want to have the series posted on the Corner Blog? Right now, we're posting a new one every 3 days. Would you rather have them twice a week? Every other day? Once a week? You can check out the first 8 videos here: http://www.photographycorner.com/blo...s/video-corner and then please let us know your thoughts here: http://www.photographycorner.com/for...ad.php?t=86283.

2) Sponsor: ColorRight

Of all of the prizes from the 2008 Photograph of the Year contest, I've received the most positive feedback on the ColorRight prizes. If you're the type of photographer that shoots in RAW and fixes white balance in post production, picking up a ColorRight of your own may be a good idea. With light changing all the time, it's hard to get the right color balance in camera, and with evolution of digital photography, we can tweak the temperature of our photographs more than even before.

But why spend all that time playing around in post processing when you can get it right "in-camera"? ColorRight is a lens filter-like tool that can help you do just that. Basically, you place it over the end of your dSLR and take a sample photo. This gives your camera an accurate reading of the temperature of the light. Once your camera knows what the lighting conditions are, you'll have an accurate white balance for the rest of your photographs (or at least until the lighting changes, when all you have to do is switch to manual focus, change your camera settings to "custom white balance," and take another sample photo).

There's no better time to pick up a ColorRight for your dSLR as we have managed to work out a special discount for PhotographyCorner members - $79!!! But only for a limited time. GET YOURS TODAY: http://bit.ly/ColorRight

8) The Corner Golden Rule

"For each photographeth thine doth upload, maketh at least thrice replieths on the photographeths of thy neighbour." (i.e., for every photograph you upload, make at least 3 comments (5 or more would be better) comments on photographs uploaded by others in the community). If you post up a photo and want comments, feedback and critiques of it, you'll soon find that your photos, regardless of how good or bad they are, will receive very little attention if you're not active in the community. This means posting in the Member Introductions forum, the Conversation Corner, and in a variety of the various forums around the Corner - in addition to commenting on photos in the Photo Sharing Corner and providing feedback and critiques in the Critiques & Feedback Corner. The more active you are in the community, the better feedback you'll receive on your photographs. The better feedback you receive on your photographs, the better a photographer you'll become... and that's the whole point, isn't it? Try it for 30 days. Make a conscious effort to reply to more threads in the forums, and I promise you'll start to receive more replies to your threads. If it doesn't happen, we'll be more than happy to provide you with a 100% refund. Guaranteed. ;) So what are you waiting for? Stop wasting your time reading this newsletter and go take some photos (and don't forget to pick up your ColorRight at the PhotographyCorner Exclusive Discounted Price of $79 here: http://bit.ly/ColorRight )!

See you around the Corner,
