Give me an email address and I'll happily send.

Of course I cleaned up the background on the final copy, the sharpening increased, colours corrected, eyes brightened etc.

Here is an allowable file size shot, I'd gladly send you the full rez.

If you question my credibility on this shot, you probably should have sent me a private message.
Yep, complete change of background on this....someone please show me the significant edits to this photo so I never ever do it again.

Re: The July 2010 Photograph of the Month Is...

The beauty of nature is that it doesn't always follow "the rules". I have captured photographs of two different Great Horned Owls (on separate occassions) which were out in the daylight.
I also have over 25 photos of raccoons (also supposedly nocturnal) which frequently run around in broad daylight where I live.

Re: The July 2010 Photograph of the Month Is...

OK folks so I've been inundated with PM's (thanks to those of you who understand that function ).

SO let me please finalize this, I thought it was done but clearly not.

Here is the original shot.

AS you can see, its a wide shot, from a great distance with a long lens. There is a process in photography be it digital or film called cropping. Where you select the field of view you wish to display as the photograph. Again as you can see this is in a dump, there is a car and a pile of trash to the bottom of the bird. The eyes are a bit dull and the bird could use a bit more sharpening. SO whats a photographer to do when they have what could be their shot of the year sitting in front of them? Leave the refuse and not tighten it up? What do I gain from making a brightening choice (minor) and sharpening, plus crop the mess out of the photo?

I get this

Sorry to anyone who feels I've committed a photographic sin and manipulated the image so very much that its not an Owl...

So please, I've dealt with this publicly, attempted privately and now publicly again. I'd really like this to be my last comment on it.

for a contest like POTY 2010, the rules are explicit : "only minor edits are permit"
for me it's a major edit, and a problem with your participation - and question of equity beetwen all the participants.

Maybe it will be good than next challenges ask for sending also the raw file to compare how the photograph submit is edit! Surely your not the only one in this case...

Loic, I consider the edits done by Vince to be minor.
