Re: Using Live View

First off, great article. I will admit I love it on my Nikon P5100. Never tried it on my Canon dSLR though. Might have to now though.

Re: Using Live View

Wow! Thanks! I have a bad back and neck so it's really hard for me to get some shots that I want. I will have to consider using this feature next time I want to take the shot but can't because of the position of the viewfinder. Excellent article.

Re: Using Live View

I find I use live view most on those shots where the camera is really low. Trying to view on the viewfinder is next to impossible unless your lying on the ground. And who wants to do that on wet forest floor. A great feature!

Re: Using Live View

Im not a big fan of live view but it does come in handy when on the floor, though on my Canon 60d, i dont think the flash works with live view turned on

Flash & Focus Issues...

I absolutely love using Live View, primarily when the camera is on a tripod and I am manually focussing on a specific part of the scene. By digitally zooming in the live view, I can nail the focus.

But neither of my camera bodies (Canon 50D and Canon XSi) consistently activate an external flash or remote trigger when using live view. This is very aggrivating.

Additionally, non-center focus points do not work reliably in auto-focus when using live view. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
