The priority should be like this:
  • Backdrop and backdrop stands: Without this, your picture will be incomplete. You need something against which you can photograph your subject. So this remains on the top of the list. To use your backdrop, you would need a stand.
  • External flash/continuous light: Without lighting, your picture will not be what you want. You need to add some extra light, especially when you will be shooting indoors as ambient lighting will be very less inside. You can choose between flash and other continuous lighting equipment as per your need.
  • Softbox: Direct light will be too harsh for your photographs, so you need to diffuse it using a softbox.
  • Light modifiers such as umbrella, reflectors, etc.
To be honest, there cannot be any accurate sequence between these products, as all of them are equally important for photography. You cannot ignore any one of them and should have all of them for better photography.
